General

The Activities Office will be closed Monday the 22nd, Tuesday the 23rd and Thursday the 25th. Please see Mrs. Cuzick or Mrs. Dorado if you need assistance.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge raised a total of $104.15! Thanks to everyone who donated and participated.

It is Frito Boat Friday! Get yours after school at the Student Store for only $2.00.

TITANS Interested in getting splashed at the Color Fun Run on September 27, the price has been discounted for students and staff only to $25.00 until September 19. You may pay and pick up a registration packet in the Activities Office at break/lunch only or register at www.Active.com. There will be an on-site registration table at the next two Home Football games, checks/cash only accepted. Don’t miss out!

For all students who are taking the CELDT test, if you would like to participate in a raffle for a $50 gift card and 2 annual passes to Universal Studios, all you need to do is improve 1 or 2 levels on your CELDT scores on October 20th!

Clubs and Classes

Film Club meets today in Mr. Pepo’s room at lunch. Come to 40B if you are interested in being an actor, director or writer! Hope to see you there!

Juniors and Seniors: The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) wants you to join! Become a part of the most elite high school academic honor society in the country. Don’t miss this great opportunity … the deadline to apply is 3:00 on Tuesday, September 30th. See Mrs. Kelly in room 107 or Mrs. Cuzick in the attendance office for your application.

The Leo Club is having its second meeting of the year Tuesday at lunch in the Forum. If you want to join the Leo Club, take to Mr. Edwards in the Athletic Director’s office or find a current Leo Club member.

Class of 2015! Yearbook is accepting your nominations for this year’s Senior Bests. Nomination forms are available on the Yearbook page of the NHS website, www.nhstitans.org. Nominate your bests today!

Community Service

Are you considering becoming a volunteer mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters? Remember to attend the 60-minute Training Session today in the quad from 3:30 to 4:30. Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are ALL invited. Bring your completed application and your manual, if you have them. Or, just show up to learn more about the program, which officially starts at Nipomo Elementary on Friday, Sept. 26th.

Splash Café is looking for student volunteers for the Pismo Beach Clam Festival on October 18 and 19. Shifts are from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm and also 1:00 – 5:00. The job includes serving customers and handling food. Please contact Sara Dahl at 773-0539 or by email: [email protected].
