General

Library news - It's time again for our monthly after school movie! Come see The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 this Wednesday, November 18th, 3-5:15pm in the library. Free popcorn!!

Soon we will be having lockdown drill at break or lunch. We need to practice for unexpected situations under different conditions since emergencies do not follow specific schedules. When the alarm sounds, please go into a safe place right away. We need to see how long it takes us to get everyone in a secure location and to see what changes are needed in the process to insure everyone’s safety.

Today is day two of the schoolwide 2nd period canned food drive competition. The class who gets first for the most cans brought in will get donuts and hot cocoa. Second place gets cookies and milk and third place gets candy. Teachers be sure to encourage your classes because the top 3 teachers get Little Jocko’s! Cans will be collected until Thursday, November 20th. I can, you can, we all can bring a can! May the odds be ever in your favor!

Sports

It was a huge upset as the Nipomo Boys Cross Country team beat five Top 10 teams enroute to a 2nd place finish at the CIF-SS Cross Country Prelims. With their victory over favorites Notre Dame - Sherman Oaks, Oaks Christian, Laguna Beach, El Segundo, and Santa Ynez, the Titans booked themselves a place in the CIF-SS Championship Finals Saturday November 21, 2015. All team members - Rogelio Flores, Joseph Gocke, Josue Navarro, Garrett Morgan, and Raul Angeles - ran a fast race on a fast, dusty course to score the needed points for this unprecedented result!
