Jose Hernandez, a retired NASA Astronaut will be speaking at Hancock College tomorrow from 12:30 - 2:00 to inspire students to "Reach for the Stars."   Sign up in the counseling office if you are interested in attending.


The Educate, Si Se Puede Conference this Friday, March 31st from 9:00 - 2:00 pm at Cuesta College.  All students are welcome. Sign up in the counseling office or see Mr. Hubbell for more information. 


Reminder - After school tutoring is available in the library from 3:00-4:00 every Monday - Thursday. 





There is still time to pre-order your 2017 yearbook! Supplies will be limited at the end of the year and the price will go up.  Order yours today in the Activities Office...prices are $75 with an ASB sticker, $80 without.


Juniors!  Have you taken your SAT Test yet?  The deadline for the May 6th test is April 7th, which is right around the corner.  Go to to register./ See your counselor for additional details.


Attention all 10th graders: Are you interested in getting some practice for the ACT??? We will be offering the ACT Aspire test (which is a practice ACT test) on April 27 during periods 1-4. Please see Mr. Hubbell or Mrs. Kia ASAP to register… space is limited!


Current Upward Bound students – yearly renewal applications and applications for Summer Academy are BOTH due by April 7th. Pick up the forms at Tuesday’s After School Sessions or on the Cal Poly Upward Bound website – .

Seniors!  Congratulations on all of the college acceptances!  We've heard UCLA, UC Davis, Westmont, San Diego State, TexasTech, Oklahoma State, Cal Poly, Humboldt State, San Diego Christian, UC San Diego, and many others!  Nipomo High School Seniors are going places!


Please bring a copy of your college acceptance letters to the counseling office for a bulletin board display.  We want to acknowledge your success, as well as inspire our underclassmen to follow in your footsteps!


SENIORS- Be sure to get your 20 hours of community service completed soon. Your hours must be complete in order to participate in Senior Activities—this include the Senior Trip too!



Many scholarships are due soon, so go to under Academics and click Scholarships OR check your LMUSD email address for more info.

There are currently 50 tickets left for Grad Night at Universal Studios.  Get yours soon for $85 in the Activities Office.



Community Service


Saturday April 8, 2017 is the Nipomo Recreation Association’s

annual Kids Day in the Park.  If you need community service hours, please contact Jeff Long at 805-215-9295, or come by the office which is located in the gym now, or email him at


If you need to accrue some community service hours, please sign up for opportunities to do so on the clipboard outside of Mr. Meloncon's office.  There are opportunities to work as a food bank volunteer, tutor for elementary students in Guadalupe, or be a mentor buddy for an elementary student at a Nipomo area elementary school.  Direct any questions to Mr. Meloncon in the counseling department.
