General

Titans! The Spring Rally is coming up so to prepare for the fun Coney Island themed week, here is what is coming up! Wear a hat on Monday so your class can win spirit points and treats during lunch.

In honor of Love out Loud Week, don’t forget to wear Blue on Thursday! Blue represents compassion and loyalty. How are you going to show your love for others this week?


Calling all Leprechauns! Starting today, find shamrocks numbered 1 – 10 around our campus and collect your pot of gold coins at break on St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17th. Be sure to wear green on Friday so you won’t get pinched!


The votes have been tallied, and it’s official! We will be having a Spring Dance on Saturday, March 25th in the gym. It is a casual dance, so show up and be ready to have some spring time fun under black lights! Pre-sale tickets go on sale Thursday, March 16th - $5 with ASB, $10 without. Cost at the door will be $15 with ASB and $20 without.


After school tutoring is available in the library from 3:00-4:00 every Monday - Thursday.

Teen's Closet is open on Wednesdays from 12-4 in Room 142. Students are welcome during lunch and after school.

Please wear your higher education gear this Thursday and every Thursday! Higher education includes college, military, and any other educational program after high school. You are allowed to wear mascots as long as the name of the organization is visible as well.


Clubs/Classes

Attention ETS students: There is an ETS lunch workshop today in room 130. ETS is currently accepting new participants. If you are interested in learning more about the program, stop by room 130 for information and an application. See you all today at lunch in room 130.

Join Project Teen Health after school on Thursdays for a fun, quick workout in room 103. It is a perfect way to get your exercise in for the day. See you there at 3pm.

Project Teen Health will be having a club meeting tomorrow during lunch in the library. Stop by for some free food and to find out about upcoming events.

Friday Night Live meeting today at lunch in room 126. If you want an opportunity to meet cool people and have a positive impact on your community, stop by and get ready to make a difference. See you for FNL in room 126.


Have you ever wanted to be president or just wanted power over what goes on? You’re in luck! All students interested in becoming an executive Associated Student Body officer, applications are now available outside the Activities Office! Get yours today!

Hey theatre fans! NHS Theatre is on a break right now, so it's a prime opportunity to let you know about our yearly trip to Ashland, Oregon in June. We go to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival during the week following graduation, and see six - yes, SIX - professional theatre productions put on by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. This is a fantastic, five-day trip to see the country's largest regional theatre, and some of the best plays around. See Mr. Emmons for details, and come to an informational meeting Thursday, March 16 at lunch in room 110.


Cal Poly Upward Bound is an intensive college prep program that provides academic advising, workshops, mentoring, tutoring, field trips and a residential Summer Academy, with curriculum designed by a dedicated Cal Poly STEM team. We are currently accepting applications from students whose parents do not have a college degree or who meet low income guidelines. Applications are available in the counseling office or the Cal Poly Upward Bound website – www.sas.calpoly.edu/ub . Questions? Contact us at [email protected] or meet us on Tuesdays, after school, in the library conference room.

Current Upward Bound students – yearly renewal applications and applications for Summer Academy are BOTH due by April 7th. Pick up the forms at Tuesday’s After School Sessions or on the Cal Poly Upward Bound website – www.sas.calpoly.edu/ub . Summer Academy will be partnering with a local charity to participate in the design of the Jack Ready Imagination Park in Nipomo in addition to going on a 4-day college and cultural trip to the Bay Area. Don’t wait to sign up, we only have 50 spaces this year.


Save the Date! The GSA is hosting a Poster-Making Pizza Party for Trans Day of Visibility on March 17 (minimum day) right after school, from 11:45 - 1:15. Everyone is welcome!

There are currently 56 tickets left for Grad Night at Universal Studios. Get yours soon for $85 in the Activities Office.




Community Service

Here is an opportunity for students to get much needed community service hours. On Saturday April 8, 2017 the Nipomo Recreation Association is having their annual Kids Day in the Park. There are numerous volunteer opportunities for students such as watching over bounce houses, games, an Easter egg hunt, manning a booth and more. The event is from 11am-2pm but they will need students starting around 9am and finishing at 3pm. Boy Wrestlers! Gear turn in and money collection for banquet will be every day after school. You must give money and gear to a coach. If you do not, it will not be accepted. Please turn in money and gear ASAP as a hold will be placed on your account if you do not.
