General

Students! If you received an invitation to Titan Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 18, please make sure your parents have called in reservations for seating. See Mrs. Carter ASAP if your family hasn't reserved their seats yet.

A new ASB Do You Know What You Owe list has been posted in the Activities Office Window. Please pay any outstanding debts as soon as possible so you will be able to participate in all the fun end of the year activities.

Please check with the Library and Cafeteria to see if you have any debts with them and take care of that as soon as possible.

Reminder - After school tutoring is available in the library from 3:00-4:00 every Monday - Thursday.

Attention! Our annual Boat Regatta competition is near! Get your packets from Mrs. Teixeira in the Activities Office. Packets will be due May 24th.

If you are going to be a junior or senior in the 2017-2018 school year, you are eligible to apply to the Counselor in Training (CIT) program for Rancho El Chorro’s Earth Camp over the summer. If selected you will be trained and have the chance to work as camp counselor over the summer and earn $350 dollars a week. See Mr. Meloncon (Mal-lan-san) in counseling to get more information or pick up an application. More details about the program are posted on a flyer on his office door.


Clubs/Classes

Saturday, May 6th twenty six Nipomo Titans competed against thousands of FFA members from throughout California to showcase their technical skills. Many of our teams rose to the top of their divisions (see results below) and the Livestock Evaluation Team was announced as the STATE CHAMPIONS. Erica Bowles, Kyler Vernon, Tucker Banta, and Eric Sahagun will represent California, at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN this October. Please help us congratulate all of our Nipomo FFA competitors.

Attention AP students: now that testing is done, your AP textbooks need to be returned to the Library ASAP.

Book Club! Come meet local authors Jenna Johnson and Mike Sewall on Wednesday, May 17th at 3:00 in the library. There will be a book talk, raffle giveaway and questionnaire. Everybody is welcome.

Calling all dancers and wanna-be dancers: Dance Company auditions are coming up! Girls audition is Thursday May 25th and guys audition is Friday May 26th. You can pick up an application from Ms. Belo in the Girls Locker Room or in Room 103

There is still time to pre-order your 2017 yearbook! Supplies will be limited at the end of the year and the price will go up. Order yours soon in the Activities Office...prices are $75 with an ASB sticker, $80 without.

Seniors

Seniors! If you would like to perform at Senior Showcase, signup today in the Activities Office! Auditions are this Friday, May 19th at 3:00 pm in the Forum. Have a performance ready whether you are singing, dancing or you have any other talents. See you there!

If you recently pre-ordered and paid in full for your Josten’s order, another shipment has arrived. Please come to the activities office to pick it up. If you have not ordered your cap and gown, pick up an information card in the Activities Office.

Montana State University is still accepting applications for the fall! It's not too late to be a Bobcat next fall. See your counselor for more info.

SENIORS-there are a handful of scholarship opportunities still available from our local donors. Check out our website for the Nipomo Rotary, American Legion, NHS Boosters, Farm Supply, Associated General Contractors, Santa Maria General Contractors, LGBTQ+, and more. Many deadlines are in the next three weeks so get some money for college or your vocational trade NOW!


SENIORS- Be sure to get your 20 hours of community service completed soon and all debts (library, textbook, Activities, cafeteria). Your hours must be complete in order to participate in Senior Activities. This include the Senior Trip too!


Community Service

If you need to accrue some community service hours, please sign up for opportunities to do so on the clipboard outside of Mr. Meloncon's office. There are opportunities to work as a food bank volunteer, tutor for elementary students in Guadalupe, or be a mentor buddy for an elementary student at a Nipomo area elementary school. Direct any questions to Mr. Meloncon in the counseling department.


Sports

Anyone interested in trying out for next year's Nipomo High School Cheerleading team please make sure you complete the tryout packet and online application ASAP. If you need a packet please visit Ms. Leek in her PE office, or you can download one online at nipomocheer.com. Go Titans!
