General

Attention staff and students! Please use extra caution when entering or exiting campus on New Tech Way. There will be large trucks in that area due to construction on Ag Island, so be on the lookout to stay out of their way, and let you parents know too!


Guess what Titans? WE have our HOCO rally this Monday! Don’t forget to wear your decade colors; seniors will be green and purple, juniors black and white, sophomores orange and yellow and lastly, freshmen blue and silver.

Homecoming is right around the corner! The dance is September 23rd at 7:30 pm. Make sure to buy your tickets in the Activities Office. Tickets are $5 with an ASB card and $15 without. Prices will go up, so buy your ticket now!

Last chance to get your guest passes turned in to your administrator because they are due today! Turn yours in and don’t forget, homecoming dance tickets are $15 without an ASB card and only $5 with your ASB card.

Just a reminder - you do not need to dress up as your decade for the Homecoming Dance. Homecoming is a casual dance.

It’s time to vote for homecoming court! Make sure to check your LMUSD email today and vote!!

Picture retake day has been rescheduled to Monday, September 25th. If you did not get your picture take at Roundup, please be sure to get it done on the 25th. These photos will be used for the yearbook and your student ID cards. Order forms will be available in the front office and at the Activities Office.

Free Daca Renewals Workshop on Tuesday September 19 at Allan Hancock College from 4-8pm. No appointments necessary! Please see flyer for more information and for a workshop checklist.


Clubs/Classes


Attention Juniors! Jostens will be on campus for the Class Jewelry order day today. Come out to the quad at lunch. Please bring your $60 deposit and your order form. Extra packets are available in the Activities Office.


Career Center Updates - Please join us every Tuesday from 3:00-4:00 in the library for our weekly workshops. Our next topic is how to create a resume'. We will spend the hour working together to create a resume' that will make you stand out from other applicants. We hope to see you there!

There are several colleges who have scheduled visits for September and October. Please come to the Career Center to view the list of colleges and to sign-up to attend any of the presentations. You must sign-up in order to attend. Arizona State will be here on Monday the 18th and Santa Clara University will here on Wednesday the 20th.

Cuesta College will be offering a Workplace Readiness Fundamental course on campus beginning October 2nd. By taking this course, you can earn 10 high school and 3 college credits. Please see your counselor for more information.


Attention Juniors and Seniors, Allan Hancock Community College is hosting their annual Career Exploration day on Friday, October 6th. Please see Mrs. Lattimer in the Counseling Office to pick up a permission slip if you are interested in attending.

Attention all freshman! Bring your own socks, sweaters, shirts, etc. for some tie-dye fun! Come to room 126 (grass area) 2 lunch time today. Supplies are limited.



Seniors


Community Service


Looking for community service hours? Now is your chance to become a Big Brother or Big Sister to a child in our community. Training will take place September 18th and 19th. Please visit Mrs. Hirase in the Career Center for more information.

Sports

All students trying out for a sport or doing preseason workouts must have their Family ID information on file as well as a current sports physical from a doctor. See Mrs. Teixeira for more information.

Pre-season training for the 2017-18 Nipomo Girls Soccer team has already begun. Any returning or interested players are invited to participate on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Participants are expected to be dressed and ready by 5:00 on the practice field nearest the tennis courts. Please bring running shoes, cleats, gloves (goalkeepers), water and warm clothes for the cooler evenings. Our primary focus will be fitness and fundamentals as official tryouts for the team will be held in early November.

Attention All Boys Interested in Wrestling - New Head Coach Kevin Kreowski will begin opening up the wrestling room after school starting this week. The wrestling room will be open Mondays through Thursdays from 3pm-5pm. Boys wrestling coaches will be in the room to work on wrestling skills with every boy interested in trying wrestling. No wrestling experience necessary.
