The Homecoming dance is September 23rd at 7:30 pm. Make sure to buy your tickets in the Activities Office. Tickets are $5 with an ASB card and $15 without. Prices will go up, so buy your ticket now! Just a reminder - you do not need to dress up as your decade for the Homecoming Dance. Homecoming is a casual dance.

Picture retake day has been rescheduled to Monday, September 25th. If you did not get your picture take at Roundup, please be sure to get it done on the 25th. Did you wake up this morning thinking of Cowboy Bebop and wondering why? That's right! It's the first meeting of the Japanese Culture Club today at Lunch in Mr. Deichler's room 134. See you there. The NHS After School program is now open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week. After School Tutoring is available in the library from 3:00-5:00 pm and an evening meal will be available to all who attend. A late bus will depart NHS, making stops at 601 Division, Dana Elementary, Idyllwild & Winterhaven and AGHS. More after school offering will be announced as they become available.
Cal Poly Upward Bound after school session is today in the library conference room from 3pm – 5pm and will meet every week on Tuesdays. More information about this college prep program is available by emailing [email protected]
Book Club: During lunch this coming Thursday in the library there will be a Book Club meeting. If you enjoying reading and are always on the look out for new books, this is the club for you!

Attention ETS students: There is an after school workshop tomorrow in the computer lab. If you are interested in attending an overnight trip to tour Sacramento State, UC Davis and the State Capitol, permission slips will be handed out during the workshop. You must be enrolled in the program if you are interested in attending the trip.
Juniors! Remember to register for the PSAT in the activities office, beginning today! The test is on Saturday, October 14th, from 7:45 - 12:00 noon. The cost is $20.00. If paying by check, make it payable to NHS ASB. This is your next step on the path to college!

There are several colleges who have scheduled visits for September and October. Please come to the Career Center to view the list of colleges and to sign-up to attend any of the presentations. You must sign-up in order to attend. Arizona State will be here today and Santa Clara University will here on Wednesday the 20th.
Cuesta College will be offering a Workplace Readiness Fundamental course on campus beginning October 2nd. By taking this course, you can earn 10 high school and 3 college credits. Please see your counselor for more information.

Community Service
Looking for community service hours? Now is your chance to become a Big Brother or Big Sister to a child in our community. Training will take place September 18th and 19th. Please visit Mrs. Hirase in the Career Center for more information.
Sports
All students trying out for a sport or doing preseason workouts must have their Family ID information on file as well as a current sports physical from a doctor. See Mrs. Teixeira or Mr. Deichler for more information.
Pre-season training for the 2017-18 Nipomo Girls Soccer team has already begun. Any returning or interested players are invited to participate on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Participants are expected to be dressed and ready by 5:00 on the practice field nearest the tennis courts. Please bring running shoes, cleats, gloves (goalkeepers), water and warm clothes for the cooler evenings. Our primary focus will be fitness and fundamentals as official tryouts for the team will be held in early November.
Attention All Boys Interested in Wrestling - The wrestling room will be open Mondays through Thursdays from 3pm-5pm. Boys wrestling coaches will be in the room to work on wrestling skills with every boy interested in trying wrestling. No wrestling experience necessary. Be sure to have your Family ID and sports physical completed!
