General

You’re someone’s type! Come out to the quad today and tomorrow to sign up for the blood drive. Just a reminder, you do have to be older than 16 to donate blood.

After School Tutoring is available in the library from 3:00-5:00 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and an evening meal will be available to all who attend. A late bus will depart NHS.


Hey Titans! Do you want to win a pizza at lunch this Friday? Wear your Titan hear or Titan colors every Friday to be entered in a pizza raffle! Look out for ASB student leadership members to receive your ticket! Show that Titan Pride!

Hey Titans! If your birthday is in August or September, come out to the quad on Monday, October 9th at lunch to receive a birthday treat!

Clubs/Classes
There will be a Public Safety Club meeting in Rm. 148 at lunchtime today. For more info, see Mr. Lindgren.

#Bstronglife meets today in the forum at lunch! We will have pizza, prizes and an encouraging leadership building message. This week’s message is “Will the real bully stand up?” Join us at lunch and bring your friends!!! See you there Belong, Believe, Bstrong!!!!

Key Club Fall Rally tickets (paid up members only) will be $30. The completed form (available from Ms. Alton or Ms. Cable Rm 143 and at Key Club meeting) and money must be in to the Activities Office by October 13th.

Juniors! Remember to register for the PSAT in the activities office. The test is on Saturday, October 14th, in Olympic Hall. Check in at 7:45, test is from 8:00 -12:00 noon. The cost is $20.00. If paying by check, make it payable to NHS ASB.

Hey freshman and sophomores, good news! If you want to take the PSAT/MNSQT test on Saturday, October 14th, we now have extra tests available! Tickets are $20.00, and can be purchase in the activities office. Make checks payable to Nipomo High School ASB. Juniors, seats are running out fast, so buy your ticket ASAP to guarantee a seat. The PSAT is the practice test for the SAT.

Cal Poly and California Lutheran University both have visits scheduled for this week. Please see Mrs. Hirase in the Career Center for more information.

Attention Juniors and Seniors, Allan Hancock Community College is hosting their annual Career Exploration day on Friday, October 6th. Please see Mrs. Lattimer in the Counseling Office to pick up a permission slip if you are interested in attending.


Attention all students who are interested in learning more about a career in technology. Mindbody in San Luis Obispo is hosting a Get Geeked in Technology event that will allow you to listen to and speak with women in the technology industry, on Thursday October 12thbeginning at 4:30pm. Please see Mrs. Hirase in the Career Center to sign-up to attend. There will be a bus to transport students.


Seniors

Attention Seniors! Jostens will be on campus for your Senior Graduation Order day today and Friday, October 6th. They will be on the quad at lunch only. Don’t forget your $60.00 deposit and your order form. Extra packets are in the Activities Office.

Seniors!!! This week is the last week to have your senior portraits taken for the yearbook. If you need a new photo information packet please stop by room 101 during the morning break.

Seniors! Do you need Cash for College? Then you should attend the "Cash for College" event at the Nipomo High School Library on Monday, October 9th, between 4 and 8 pm. Just bring one parent and their 2016 tax return, and you can have your FAFSA ( the Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or the Dream Act Application DONE that night. There will be lots of financial aid experts on hand to help, and bilingual assistance is available!

Community Service

Nipomo Recreation has an opportunity for high school students to get their volunteer hours for this school year on October 7th at the Annual October Fest in the Nipomo Community Park. We are looking for some people to help out with the Fun Run. Hours are from 7am-10am. We will need help setting up the course and traffic safety. Please call Jeff at 805-929-5437.
