General

Reminder to all students who drive and park any vehicle on campus, you must obtain a parking permit. Parking permit forms are available at the activity office; the form needs to be completed with a fee of $15.00. You have until February 1st, that is THIS THURSDAY, or citations will be given to those without. – Coach Rucker!!

The essay competition for Optimists is on now. "Can society function without respect?" Answer that question in 700 to 800 words and you could win first prize of $200, second prize $150 and third prize $100. The 1st place winner moves on to compete for a $2,500 scholarship! See Mrs. Carter in the office for details and an application. Good luck from the Five Cities Optimist Club!

Come out to Hogsmeade aka the quad today, January 29th during lunch to pin the scar on Harry Potter and try guessing how many candies are in your house cup. The students from each grade level that guess the correct or closest number of candies in the cup will receive a prize during their second period class!

Also, come to the quad and participate in a Boggart balloon pop challenge on Tuesday, January 30th during lunch and receive an award for your participation.

CSF applications are now available in Room 138. Sophomores this is your first opportunity to apply. Applications are due in the office by February 9th.

The NHS After School Tutoring program is now available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week in the library from 3:00-5:00 pm. An evening meal will be available to all who attend. A late bus will depart NHS.

Redeem your Titan Bolts at the Titan PRIDE cart in the quad during break and lunch on Tuesdays! Reward yourself with snacks, clothes, and other amazing prizes!


Clubs/Classes

Cal Poly Upward Bound after school session is tomorrow in the library conference room from 3pm – 5pm and will meet every week on Tuesdays. More information about this college prep program is available by emailing [email protected]

Attention National Honor Society members! There is a meeting today, the 29th in Room 114, Mr. Houchin’s room. Be there to turn in your permission slip for the February College Trip and receive important information for future events!

Chess players! Do you want to take your game to the next level? Come to a special chess club meeting next Wednesday, January, 31st. Mr. Storm will talk about strategies and info that will help you become a stronger player. See you on Wednesday at lunch in Room 146.


Career Center/Library

A Representative from Allan Hancock College will be here every Friday morning through February 2nd until lunch to answer any questions and help you apply to attend. Please come by the Career Center to sign-up for an appointment to get your questions about Hancock College answered.
