General

Did you say Cinco de Mayo? This year, Cinco de Mayo falls on a Saturday! But don't worry, the Mariachi Band Umo, featuring our very own Jonathan Martinez and Brian Navarro will be playing a special concert on Friday at lunch. That's May 4th! May the 4th be With You! Also, you can make your very own Mexican paper flowers... Be sure to bring your dancing shoes on Friday!

Juniors, the deadline to sign up for the June 9th ACT Test is tomorrow, May 4th. Sign up through ACT's website... www.ACT.org. See your counselor if you need assistance signing up.

The Special Olympic Games are finally here! Our fantastic Special Athletes will be competing this Friday at Cuesta College. We will have a Special Rally today on the quad to Cheer them On! Please show up and show them your support!

Last reminder for girls interested in powderpuff… Today is your last day to pick up your application. Applications are due TOMORROW, May 4th. Get them in and participate in some guaranteed fun!


Clubs/Classes

Attention dance lovers! Come on down to the Clark Center in AG tomorrow evening, May 4th, for the 13th annual NHS Dance Company performance; May The Dance Be With You. The show starts at 7pm! Tickets are $12.00 and available at the Clark Center box office or online at www.clarkcenter.org, they are $2.00 more at the door - so get your tickets early! Dance or do not. There is no try.

NHS Theatre Company presents Secret in the Wings... A child is left with a frightening babysitter. As the babysitter reads from a book, the characters in each of the tales materialize, with each tale breaking off just at its bleakest moment before giving way to the next one. Show is at 7pm in Olympic Hall. You can see Secret in the Wings, Thursday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 5th at 7pm. Tickets are only $5.00.

Special Olympics Best Buddies... Practice this week will be today, and the games are tomorrow! Turn in your field trip permission slip ASAP... No slip, no trip! -Mr. Hubbell

Ultimate Frisbee club will meet after school tomorrow from 3:00 to 5:00pm on the athletic fields. Bring water, comfortable running shoes, and tons of energy.

The Project Teen Health Club will meet today during lunch in the library. We will be working on our plan to create a healthier campus and you can be a part of it! New members are always welcome.

Karaoke at lunch in the band room today. Please feel free to come and participate or just watch! Happy Thursday :)

Trying to figure out what to do after high school? There are some awesome presentations coming up in the month of May in the Career Center. Stop by to sign-up to hear from the Navy, Air Force, or California Aeronautical University.


Seniors

Attention Seniors who pre-ordered your caps and gowns - please come to the Activities Office to pick up your order. A new shipment came in recently. If you have not ordered your graduation supplies yet, go to Jostens.com right away!



Community Service

Community Service opportunity at Dorothea Lange’s summer school program... “We would love to have students come and read or help out in the classrooms! The hours are 8:30-12:45pm, M-Th, June 20-July 26. There is no school on July 4-5. Obviously we work with the high school students on availability within their schedules.” Sign up with Mr. Meloncon in the Admin building.
