General

Monday, May 28th there will be no school in honor of Memorial Day. School will resume Tuesday, May 29th at 7:45 am. Have a safe and fun weekend, Titans!

May Birthdays! If you were born in May come get your ice cream on the quad, tomorrow at lunch.

Auditions for performing the National Anthem at the Class of 2018 Graduation ceremony will be held in the Band Room tomorrow at Lunch. Questions? See, Ms. Youngblood.

Renaissance students, were you missing your tri-tip at the Field Day? Well this Thursday, May 31st, we will be providing tri-tip and salsa, just bring your own bun. Come out and enjoy some delicious meat on the quad at lunch. Congratulations on all your academic achievements. Keep up the hard work and finish the year strong!

Students-- There still openings in the Cuesta College Classes being offered at Nipomo High School this summer. There will be Drawing, America Sign Language, World History and Spanish. These classes will count for 3 college units and 10 high school credits. Best of all, they are free for high school students! See your counselor for more details.

Students, have you lost something this year? Maybe your PE swim clothes and towel, favorite sweatshirt, or a pair of shoes? You need to come up to the Attendance Office and ask us to look in the lost and found for your items. We have several items such as bags, backpacks, clothes, shoes and lots of other various things that are still unclaimed. When in doubt come check it out in the NHS lost and found. All unclaimed items will be donated on the last day of school!


Clubs / Classes

Attention all incoming AP World History students… There will be a mandatory meeting at the start of lunch on Friday and Monday in Room 114 to discuss course expectations and to assign summer work. Please attend at least one of these meetings.

It's time to join the NHS Robotics team and compete against the World. Monday and Tuesday are build days in Room 105 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. We will work one day a week over summer, it won't be mandatory. Come join and compete against the world. Come by Room 106 if you have any questions.

Chess players! The time has come for the end of the year tournament. Who will be crowned the “King” of NHS Chess? Or it might be a “Queen?” Sign up with Mr. Hubbell in the counseling office. The tournament will start today at lunch in the library. The winner will receive a custom Chess Champion T-Shirt.

Career Center / Library

Library news: All library books are now past due. Please get them turned into the library immediately. Don't worry if you have late fees, just get your library books turned in. Textbooks can be returned as soon as your teachers say you're done with them.

Seniors

Seniors, did you miss your chance to record your audio dedication for Graduation? If so, report to the Band Room this Thursday, May 31st at Lunch with your dedication form prepared. Need a form, see your English teacher. Questions? See, Ms. Youngblood.

There are still many caps and gown and other graduation items that need to be picked up in the Activities Office. If you ordered online or prepaid, yours might be here waiting for you!

Seniors...Allan Hancock College counselors will be here this Thursday, May 31st, from 12:30 - 3:30 pm in the Library Career Center. The counselors can help you plan your schedule for next fall and develop a Student Educational Plan for the next two years. Please bring a copy of your transcript with you. See Mr. Hubbell or Mrs. Kia if you need help doing the Hancock application before you meet with the Hancock counselor.

Attention all students interested in Cross Country for next year. Please come to an informational meeting at 12:30 on Thursday in the gym. Meet your new coach and receive a summer practice plan schedule. See you there!
