May is Mental Health awareness Month. Each day this month we will feature another mental health awareness tip or strategy. We want to make sure you know where to go if you need assistance. Student advocates, counselors, teachers, and administrators are all available. It is okay to ask for help. We also have an anonymous tip line. Posters will be around school soon with the information. In the meantime, you can access the tip line through the Lucia Mar Unified School District website.
The SLO County Special Olympics is this Friday. Nine of Nipomo High School's finest athletes will be competing and going for the gold! Join us at lunch in the quad TODAY, where we will be holding a special send off rally. Please show up and show your support!

Don’t forget to wear your favorite post secondary education gear on Higher Ed Thursdays which is every Thursday! This includes, colleges, military, and vocational programs. Mascots are allowed as long as the name of the organization is showing as well.

Special Olympics Best Buddies! Remember to get the field trip permission slips in as soon as possible to Mr. Hubbell in the counseling office, or turn them in at practice. The big day is almost here!

Library news: Join us in the library during 4th period this Friday as local author Kathryn Blanche discusses her experiences in becoming a published author and the story behind her new Laila of Midgard series. Please check in with your 4th period teacher before heading to the library.

Seniors, please turn in your community service forms to Mrs. Mendez in the office. If you have any questions regarding your hours or how to earn community service hours, please see Ms. Xiong, also in the office- room 16. You are required a total of 20 hours for graduation.

Attention All girls interested in playing Powder Puff this year: There will be meetings for each class in the following rooms this Thursday at lunch. Seniors will meet in room 109. Juniors will meet in room 113. Sophomores will meet in the Career Center. Freshmen will meet in room 146. Pick up your packets at the meeting or in the Activities Office. Again, Seniors in 109, Juniors in 113, Sophomores in Career Center, and Freshmen in 146. If you are still thinking about it, come to the meeting and see what the hype is about!
