Mental Health Awareness Month! Has something been bothering you? Let it all out…on paper. Studies have found that anxious test-takers who wrote briefly about their thoughts and feelings before taking an important exam earned better grades than those who did not. Journaling can be a great stress reducer through organizing one’s thoughts, clearing one’s mind and facilitating problem solving. It can be an escape Writing can also reduce symptoms of depression.

Clubs / Classes

 

You are invited to a lunch time party, Thursday, May 23, in the Forum with BStrong club. We will have a senior graduation celebration, there will be a live DJ, free pizza, hot churros, a game competition, gifts for the seniors and lots of prize giveaways! Everyone is invited, see you tomorrow at lunch in the Forum!  

 

Hey freshman are you participating in Link Crews’ picture scavenger hunt? Do you see people taking pictures with silly objects? Do you want the chance to win a pizza party or rootbeer float THIS FRIDAY? Want to meet new people? Freshmen I am talking to you. The world will know that the premiere of Newsies is finally here! Come support the NHS Drama Department at their last show of the year! Between all the fighting, singing, tears and dancing, this will be a powerful show you will not want to miss! It will be at the Clark Center in Arroyo Grande during Memorial Weekend (May 23rd-May 26th). Doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:00pm. Tickets sold at the door are $12 for students and $22 for adults. PRESALE TICKETS ARE LESS, FIND MRS. METCHIK OR THE ACTIVITIES OFFICE, AS WELL AS THE CLARK CENTER. We hope to see you all there!

Library News: Today we are playing BINGO! in the library from 3:00-4:30pm. Prizes include candy, new books, gift cards, and more! Everyone is welcome to play for FREE!!!

 

Library News: All library books are now past due! Some are VERY past due! Please return all library books immediately. Don't worry about your late fees. Textbooks (and those books you're reading with your whole class...those are textbooks) can be returned as soon as your teachers say you are finished with them.

SENIORS: If you have not picked up your cap and gown from the Activities Office yet, please come this week. We want to make sure everyone's orders have arrived.

 

SENIORS! IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY, BE SURE TO TURN IN YOUR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS!

 

Attention Seniors who are attending Grad Night! There is a mandatory meeting for Grad Night TODAY during break in the forum. We will be discussing important issues and signing up for buses. MUGGLE ONLY AT BREAK IN THE FORUM .

 

Community Service

 

Students! A community service opportunity has come up for tomorrow, May 23rd from 5:00-8:00pm. Nipomo Elementary needs your help in hosting an event on “How to Be a Good Digital Citizen.” Every volunteer that participates will receive a free dinner, a ticket for the end of the night drawing, and a letter confirming your volunteer hours, what a deal! Sports

 

Attention Track & Field Athletes - please turn your uniforms into Coach Edwards at his office during lunch today or tomorrow. You will receive your track photo when you turn in your uniform. Wash your gear before turning in please!!   

 

Attention Boy Wrestlers - please turn in your wrestling gear (bags, singlets, headgear) to Coach Edwards at his office during lunch today or tomorrow. You will be charged if you do not turn your gear in.

 

Attention students: If you are going to be participating in NHS Athletics next year, the 2019-20 Family ID registration is now open. Instructions for completion can be found on the NHS Athletics page and if you have any questions please swing by room 134 and speak with Assistant Athletic Director Mr. Deichler. Thanks.
