General

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month…

Some people think abuse in relationships is only physical--but there are many ways by which one partner can exert power and control over another. During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we recognize survivors and victims of emotional, verbal, sexual, financial, spiritual, and digital abuse, as well as stalking. In the U.S. alone, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner violence annually. **Stand Strong disclaimer: If you or anyone you know is experiencing abuse, you can call the Stand Strong 24-hour Crisis & Information line at (805) 781-6400.

Don’t forget to stop by the After-School Program in the library. You can get some help on your assignments or perhaps just have a quiet place to do your work. Monday through Thursday from 3:00 - 5:00pm. Dinner and bus transportation are available!
