General

Howdy Titans! Winter Formal is three weeks away, on Saturday, February 1st, at Mountainbrook Church in SLO. That’s right in just three short weeks. Tickets will be sold at the Activities office beginning tomorrow, January 15th. Early bird prices start at $25 with an ASB card and $30 without. Make sure to get your tickets early because the prices go up on Thursday, January 23rd. Check out our Instagram page for the theme reveal, happening in just a few days.

Clubs / Classes
Attention all those interested in board games and card games. The Magic the Gathering Club is meeting in Mr. Deichler's room 134 to nerd out and play some games. See you there.

Key Club meets today in Room 102!

Unicef Club meets today and every Tuesday in room 109 at lunch. Please stop by, everyone is welcome.

Career Center / Library
Library news: Any library books that were checked out before Winter break are now PAST DUE. If you haven't done so already, please stop by the library to renew or return your books.

Seniors
Welcome back, seniors! The nhstitans.org Scholarship webpage has been updated! Be sure to check it out for all the latest scholarship applications and their deadlines. See Mrs. O in the Career Center if you have questions or need a hard copy.

Community Service
Be sure to get your community service hours documented! Not sure what opportunities are out there? See Mrs. O in the Career Center at break, lunch, or after school. All of these local non-profits need volunteers and you need the hours. It's a win-win!

Sports
Congratulations to the NHS Girls’ Varsity Soccer team for their winning efforts during the past three weeks during winter break as they recorded an overall 5-2 record (3-1 in tournament play and 2-1 in league play.) During these games, the Titan defense and goalkeeper, Alexis Acosta, recorded 4 shut outs and collectively, the team scored 10 goals, giving up only 4 goals in these contests. Midway through Ocean League season, the Titans have established a 5-1 record. Come out and support your Titans as they host Santa Maria on Today at 6:00 pm in the stadium – GO TITANS!

Boys Volleyball Interest Meeting in Coach Conaway's classroom (NHS Room 116) right after school (3pm) on Wednesday. Come meet Coach Logue and find out information about the upcoming season. Previous volleyball experience not required.

"WANTED: BOYS GOLFERS. Attention all boys that are not playing a spring sport and are up for a new challenge...NHS boys golf needs new players! There will be a brief informational meeting this Friday, January 17 in room 134. All you need to play is Athletic Clearance-no prior experience is necessary and golf clubs can be provided for you. This is an awesome opportunity to learn a new sport and to practice and play on the best courses on the Central Coast at no cost!"

The Largest team on campus is getting set to get started again ..... that's right, it's time for Track and Field. Come to an information meeting this Thursday at lunch in the Forum. Track and Field is a sport for anybody and everybody. Hope to see you all on Thursday.

Boys tennis practice starts this week on the tennis courts from 3:00-5:00 pm Monday thru Friday. No previous experience necessary we take everyone! If you are in another sport right now, no problem. Check in at tennis courts after school with Coach Teresa and we will get you registered for tennis so you can start hitting.
