Community Service Opportunities
Camp Hapitok is looking for responsible, dedicated students between the ages of 13 and 18 to serve as volunteer counselors this summer. Camp Hapitok is a four-week summer program for children with speech, language and hearing disorders. Volunteers will work with one child for the session. You can become the best friend, teacher and counselor to a child with special needs. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in careers in education. We especially need male volunteers. Please come the Activities Office to pick up an application. Applications must be postmarked by March 8th.
March 2nd, from 10-3, rain or shine, Nipomo riding club needs workers to help clear trash and unwanted materials that have been left behind by people. They have two large rolling dumpsters ready to be filled. They need willing, able glove- covered hands to load the “gems” people have chosen to leave behind on the trail into the dumpster. Grab a pink community service form from counseling and administration to take with you if you choose to help your community on March 2nd from 10-3. A map is available with Mrs. Whitacre.
Attention Juniors & Seniors! If you need community service hours, here's the perfect opportunity. The Track & Field team has a home meet on Thursday and the coaches need your help! There's a sign up sheet on the Activities Office counter. All juniors and seniors are invited to help out - so race to that sign up sheet today!
