General

Hey everyone! We would like to thank all of the 2nd period classes who guessed how many candy corns were in the vase. The winner of this competition is….drum roll please…Mr. Rodrigues’ class who guessed 130! The actual total was 129. Congratulations! Your prize will be given to you in 2 weeks.

Picture retakes have arrived. Please pick yours up in the Activities Office. There are still ASB cards and pictures from the first picture day that need to be picked up as well.

If you want to see some scary and spooky pumpkins, then come out to the quad at lunch today to see which club has the best pumpkin! Come vote for your favorite! The winning club will get a root beer float party!

All students interested in attending college! Don't miss out on the Cuesta College Fair on November 4th from 5:30 -8:30. Nipomo High will be providing bus transportation to and from the college fair! Sign up for a spot on the bus in the counseling office. The bus will be leaving NHS ay 5:30 and returning at 8:00. There is still room on the bus, so pick up a fieldtrip permission slip in the office. Lots of colleges will be there! Don't miss out!

A representative from FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) will be here today during 3rd period in the Forum. Come find out about careers in fashion, interior design, digital arts and entertainment industries. A sign-up sheet and presentation passes are available in the library.

Clubs and Classes

Key Club is fundraising for Unicef on the quad at lunch and break today and tomorrow. Look for the little orange boxes.

Juniors and Seniors - wouldn't you love to go to college in Santa Barbara? A representative from UCSB will be here on Monday, 11/4, during 5th period in the Forum to provide information on academic programs, internships, and the application process. A sign-up sheet and presentation passes are available in the library.

Key Clubbers! Money for t-shirt orders and memberships is due now. Please take your payments to Mrs. Teixeira in the Activities Office.

It’s that time of the year…Our annual canned food drive will begin on November 6th and run through November 19th. It is a 2nd period class competition. Last year we brought in 3,243 cans…let’s break that record! Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Friday Night Live meets today at lunch in Mr. Deicher’s room 134. New members are always welcome.

Seniors

Westmont College is a private Christian college located in the Santa Ynez mountains above Santa Barbara. It is ranked in the nation's top 100 Liberal Arts Colleges. A representative from Westmont will be here on Tuesday, 11/5, during 2nd period in the library computer lab. A sign-up sheet and presentation passes are available in the library.

Attention Seniors! Senior “Stay Classy” t-shirts and sweatshirts are now being ordered. Shirts are $7 and sweatshirts are $20. Buy both for the bundle price of $25! Expect pre-order slips in your senior classes soon. Pre-orders will be due November 8th. Don’t procrastinate!

Any girls interested in wrestling this season, come to an informational meeting Friday at lunch in room 147. See you there!
