General

Reminder – anyone driving a vehicle to NHS must purchase a parking permit. Permits are available in the Activities Office for $15. Tickets for not having a permit are $20.

Students driving to school must park in the area designated for Student Parking. If you are unsure of where that area is, please refer to school map posted in Activities Office. Fines for parking in a non-student area are $20.

Swing by the library and say hello to out new librarian, Mrs. Matsuura (Mat-sir-ah) and while you are there, check out the new selections of popular books that just arrived…the Mortal Instrument series, Hush Hush saga, Divergent series, books by John Green and many more. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, talk to Mrs. Matsuura. She can order more!

If you didn’t purchase your Rolling Thunder shirt on the quad, you may still buy one for only $5 in the Activities Office. Go Titans!

A representative from Allan Hancock College will be on the quad at lunch on Thursday. Stop by his table and get valuable information regarding Hancock, and the wonderful programs it has to offer.

Clubs and Classes

There is a GSA meeting today Tuesday in room 135. Come and be involved with making NHS a safe campus for everybody.

Seniors

Only 12 days left to submit your CSU and UC College Applications. That's twelve. A dozen! See your counselor if you need help with the online application. Don't be a turkey, and wait ‘til the last minute!

Fri: Girls Cross Country is traveling back to Mt. Sac for CIF Finals! Congrats to our coaching staff - Rollinger, Owens and student teacher Torrie Burke.

Cross Country news!! Rogelio Flores ended his season with an amazing time of 16:36 at CIF Prelims. As a sophomore, he is already making a name for himself and you can expect to see him leading the League next year. What a tremendous talent! The girls’ team continues to amaze everyone with their constant determination to win and fast times. They placed 2nd in their heat and are advancing to CIF Finals next week. Cheer them on as they try to make school history and make State!

Cross Country team members – Poinsettias will be arriving today after school. Please arrange to pick yours up in front of the gym.

Girls not already playing a winter sport – you have an opportunity to be on the first ever NHS Girl’s Wrestling team! Meet at the track at 3:15 today or see Coach Magdaleno in room 147.

Attention all boys interested in playing golf! There will be
an informational meeting at 12:15 during lunch in room 129 on Thursday to discuss the upcoming season.
