General

Reminder: Many students still have outstanding textbooks and novels. These books need to be returned to the library before you can buy a Winter Formal ticket.

Going to Winter Formal? If you have an outstanding debt, please make sure you take care of it in the Activities Office so you will be eligible to purchase your ticket. (AP test balances do not count).

Today is Ugly Sweater Day
Tuesday is Hippie Day
Wednesday is “Where’s Waldo?” Day
Thursday is Blackout Day and if you wear your Rolling Thunder shirt on Blackout Day, you get to leave to lunch 5 minutes early! Rolling Thunder shirts will be available on the Quad next week or anytime in the Activities Office for $5.

Friday is VEGAS Class themes Day. Frosh are Excalibur (Knights) blue & silver; Sophmores are Circus Circus (Clowns) purple & green; Juniors are Luxor (Egyptians) turquoise & gold and Seniors are Treasure Island (Pirates) red & black.

Vegas!!! Winter Formal is here! Join us on February 1st at Cypress Ridge Pavilion from 8 – 11pm. Tickets are now on sale in the Activities Office for $20 with an ASB card and $30 without. Tickets will be sold through Thursday, January 30th.
Ticket prices will go up if you wait until the last day.


Winter Formal Guest Pass permission slips are due TODAY! Hope you remembered! Turn them in to your guidance counselor by 3:00 pm TODAY. No Pate Passes will be accepted.

Have you reserved your copy of the 2014 yearbook? Prices are $80 without an ASB card and $75 with an ASB card. January 31st is the last day to order if you want to personalize your cover.

Are you driving to school? Do you have a parking permit? If not, please purchase one in the Activities Office for $15. Tickets will be issued for any car without a permit and/or any car not parked in the appropriate lots.


Students!**Do you want to take a Cuesta College class RIGHT HERE on the Nipomo High School Campus?
The class is called "Introduction to Workplace Readiness" and will give you 3 college units and TEN, yes you heard right, TEN high school credits. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 - 5:00 in the forum and is a practical class which covers Career Exploration, Job Searches, Resume Writing, and includes a mock job interview. And oh yeah, did I tell you that the class is free? Gratis! FREE! The first class meeting will be Monday, February 3rd at 3:00 in the Forum. Please sign up for the class in the counseling office. Space is limited.


Clubs and Classes

Interact General meeting will be this Wednesday at lunch in room 40C. All members please attend. New members are always welcome to join!
Hey Key Clubbers! We are meeting on the 28th. All scholarship people please bring your thank you letter written to the Youth Coalition.

All sophomores (and juniors who took the PSAT Test)....
There will be a PSAT Test Results night tonight, January 27th, from 6:30 - 7:30 in the Forum. You will receive your PSAT Score Report that night, and learn important information on how to interpret and use your PSAT results as you prepare for the SAT and college...

NHS Theatre returns, with its latest work, "Our Town." Come see this beautiful piece of American theatre at the Clark Center Studio. We have partnered with technical theatre students from AG High, and will be running January 30 - February 8. First weekend will have two evening shows at 7 and one matinee on February 1 at 1:30 - time to see it before formal, and the second weekend will be three evening performances at 7:00. Support NHS Drama and leave speechless!

Sports

Attention all athletes! Are you thinking about playing sports in college? If you are, make sure you make an appointment with Mr. Hubbell and talk about the NCAA Clearinghouse requirements. You must register with the Clearing House to play sports in college.
