Congratulations to Nipomo High School’s 2014 Poetry Out Loud winner Jenna Clift! Now everybody turn out to cheer her on at the final countywide competition on February 6. That’s 7:00 Thursday night at the San Luis Coastal Adult School, 1500 Lizzie Street in San Luis Obispo. Nine high school champions are competing for the county title. The winner goes on to complete at the state level in Sacramento. Congratulations also to second place winner Mollie Mackenzie and Harrison Wethington and Abby Colton, our 3rd place winners.
California State Summer School for the Arts will be holding a four week summer school session in Valencia from July 12 - August 8, 2014. This is a wonderful program for students interested in Animation, Dance, Film & Video, Music or Theater. For information, please see Mrs. Furlin in the library.
Today is VEGAS Class themes Day. Frosh are Excalibur (Knights) blue & silver; Sophmores are Circus Circus (Clowns) purple & green; Juniors are Luxor (Egyptians) turquoise & gold and Seniors are Treasure Island (Pirates) red & black.

Clubs and Classes
There are still a few spots in the Cuesta College Class being offered at Nipomo High School. Sign up in the counseling office. The first class meets on Monday, February 3rd, at 3:00 in the Forum. The class is called “Introduction to Workplace Readiness” and gives you 10 high school credits and three college units. There is no charge for the class.
NHS Theatre returns, with its latest work, "Our Town." Come see to the Clark Center Studio January 30 - February 8. First weekend will have two evening shows at 7 and one matinee on February 1 at 1:30 - time to see it before formal, and the second weekend will be three evening performances at 7:00. Support NHS Drama and leave speechless!
Today, Anime Club is hosting a “Movie Night” from 3 – 5pm. We are showing “Evangalion 1.11”. Come by room 137 at lunch to get a permission slip. See you there!
