Friday school this week will be today.
The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is now accepting applications from Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who earned high grades on last semester’s report card. You are eligible to apply and become a member of this prestigious group of California students if you earned mostly A’s and B’s on last December’s report card. Bring a copy of your report card (or current transcript) to room 107 and fill out an application to see if you qualify. If you do qualify, there is a $5 membership fee. Don’t miss this opportunity to join … the deadline to apply is Friday, February 21st.
Come to the quad today and check out opportunities at Cuesta College. A representative from the nursing department and financial aid will be there to answer your questions. Find out about the different nursing programs and the Promise Scholarship!
Hey Nipomo! Want to see the talent on campus? Come see the annual Valentine's Show this weekend and check out our stage chops. That's right - tonight and Saturday, in Olympic Hall, at 7:00 pm! Doors open at 6:30. Singing, dancing, skits, comedy, you name it - we have it! Nipomo's Got Talent!
Clubs and Classes
Friday Night Live meets in room 134 today at lunch. New members are always welcome.
According to the World Food Organization, 2.6 million people die annually due to hunger related issues. To bring awareness to global food insecurity, we need your help. During National FFA Week (Feb.18-22) we will be collecting spare change in teacher’s jars to purchase a heifer, goat, chicken and/or pig through Heifer International. The winning teacher (most $$) will be honored by having the opportunity to kiss a pig at lunch on Friday of FFA week.
Seniors
Don't forget, tonight is Cash for College night in the library from 4:00 - 8:00. You can complete your FAFSA at Cash for College. You should bring a parent and your parent's tax return from this year (or even last year's tax return is okay).
By completing your FAFSA you are applying for federal student aid to help pay for college, as well as applying for the Cal Grant. All seniors should complete the FAFSA, whether you are going to four year college, community college, or a vocational or trade school. See you tonight. You don't have to stay the whole time. It should take less than an hour to complete your FAFSA so drop in anytime between 4:00 and 7:00 to get going. All students who attend will be entered into a raffle for a $1,000 scholarship, to be chosen ONLY from those students who attend Cash for College at NHS tonight!
