General

Reminder! If you have any outstanding debts you must take care of them prior to purchasing a Prom ticket or Grad Night ticket.

For all girls out there ages 16-18 interested in firefighting – “Camp Cinder” would like you to complete an application for their 4 day, 3 night camp at no cost! Pick up applications in the counseling office.


Any students interested in taking summer school must pick up an application in the counseling offices. Summer school is June 23-July 31st from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. Summer school is offered on AGHS; however transportation will be available from NHS to the AGHS campus. Students are welcome to schedule appointments with their counselors if they are questioning which courses they should take over the summer. Appointments can be set-up in the counseling offices. For priority registration, summer school applications are due by May 23, 2014.

Kindness has a beautiful way of reaching down into a weary heart and making it shine like the rising sun. This week is our very first Kindness Week:

Today is “Take the Time to be Kind Day”, wear purple.

Wednesday is “Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve Day”, wear white.

Thursday is “Brighten Someone’s Day”, wear neon.

Friday is “We’re All in This Together Day”, wear school colors.

Let’s take this opportunity to come together as a school and spread kind thoughts and words to create a positive atmosphere.

Cheerleading tryouts are here. Tryouts run through Thursday, May 1st. Packets can be picked up in the Activities office or sent to you via email. No experience necessary, we will teach you all you need to know. For Questions or concerns pick up a packet with contact information.

Cuesta College is hosting a Youth Job & Resource Fair on Wednesday, May 7th from 5-7pm at the Youth One-Stop at 191 S. Oak Park Road in Grover Beach. Learn about local jobs and career tracks in many industries. Meet with potential employers, enter in a raffle to win prizes and enjoy some refreshments.

Proms and all their preparations have become too expensive for a many young girls and their families to afford. Project Prom assists high school girls preparing for Prom. Free of charge, we provide a dress, shoes, coordinating accessories, and make-up, and we may also be able to pay for some Prom tickets. Any young ladies that would like help please complete the application available in the Activities Office and place it in the box on the Activities Office counter.

Clubs and Classes

Are you interested in getting the “inside scoop”? Being in “the know”? Join the Titan newspaper staff next year and interview people of interest, write stories, take photos, draw cartoons, and u e professional publishing programs to create The Titan newspaper. If you’re interested, pick up an application from your counselor and turn it in by the end of the month to Ms. Jenssen in room 112.

Attention anyone who picked up an ASB Commissioner application! Some of the job descriptions were left out of the packet, so pick up another page of job descriptions on the Activities Office counter. Interviews will be May 5th and 6th.

There is a GSA meeting today at lunch in room 135.

Film Club meets today in room 40B at lunch.

FIDM Club meets today in room 40A at lunch.

Seniors

Attention: All Senior Boys Wrestlers and Girls Volleyball Players. Mr. Souza has applications available for scholarships. See him at break or lunch. The applications are due Friday, May 2nd.
