Sports

NHS has a "CIF Champion" amongst you...Kyra Meko won her race on Saturday, the 1600, in 5:01.8. An amazing end to her season and her 4 years running for Nipomo High School. Her teammate Gracie was 4th at 5:10 which was only a second off of her personal best, and Cassie ran her 2nd best time in the 2 mile at 11:45. Great job to the girls.

In the throws, Taylor Nevitt finished 3rd in both the shot put and discus...Jordynn Dorado was 8th in the shot put and Monica Guerrero was 9th in the discus. The girls combined totals for team points landed them in 4th overall as a team and 15th overall out of a field of 171 schools!!! Such a huge accomplishment.

The boys: Jared Springer, shot put - 5th and Discus-3rd landed him a trip to the Masters Meet on Friday this week!!! That means he was in the top 9 out of the entire Southern Section and will compete to try to get to the State Meet. Very exciting...
Andrew Hutchinson - discus threw well, Kendrick Kessler high jumped 6'1 and earned him a 5th place medal, and Luke Nickelson Long Jumped to a 3rd place medal at 21'5".

Such a great day and an awesome year in track for the Titans!!!

Reminder: If you are planning to participate in any NHS sports practices or tryouts this summer you must have a 2014-15 sports clearance package on file with the Athletic Director. You may purchase your packet in the Activities Office for $40.

Basketball Tryouts begin Tuesday, May 27th. Anybody interested in trying out for JV or Varsity Basketball for next year who missed the informational meeting on Friday, see Coach Edwards to get the information that you missed.
