General

ALL vehicles parked on campus MUST have an NHS parking permit. Permits are $15 – tickets for not having a permit are $20. Pick up your application in the Activities Office.

Student parking is only allowed in the area west of the Admin building in front of the gym. Cars parked in unauthorized areas will be ticketed.

Clubs and Classes

The newly formed Film club meets today at lunch in Mr. Pepo’s room 40B. Actors, writers and directors wanted. See you there!

Are you interested in dancing? Singing? Acting? How about putting all three together? Come out to a lunchtime info meeting today in room 110 to talk about Drama Departments’ new musical, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. Yes, you heard right. We’re all in this together folks, so let’s get our head in the game and head to room 110 for info about auditions and the production. Everyone from the school is welcome to audition. I repeat, anyone from NHS can audition. Room 110 at lunch today for more info!

Attention Titans! Renaissance is back. Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline to sign up is September 12th. Hurry Titans! Don’t miss out on all wonderful perks of being a Renaissance student!

Students...would you like to take a Cuesta College class right here on the NHS campus? For free? I thought so! The class is Introduction to Workplace Readiness, and will earn you 3 college credits and 10, (Count 'em, TEN) high school credits towards electives. The class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 - 5: 45 in the Forum. The first class meeting is Monday, September 8th. See your counselor for more details, or show up to the first class meeting. All grade levels are welcome!

Community Service

With just one hour a week, you can make a difference in the life of a child while having fun AND earning community service hours! Become a High School Big Brother or Big Sister to a Nipomo Elementary School Little and enjoy sports, games and crafts each Friday from 3:30-4:30. To find out more, stop by Big Brothers Big Sisters’ table on September 5th. Their friendly staff will be here during lunch and after school to talk about their program, hand out applications, and answer any questions you have. Applications will also be available at the Activities Office starting September 5th.

Splash Cafe is looking for student volunteers for the Pismo Beach Clam Festival on October 18 and 19. Shifts are from 9:30 am-1:00 pm, and also 1:00-5:00 pm. The job includes serving customers and handling food. Please contact Sara Dahl at 773-0539, or by email: [email protected]

Sports

Are you ready for some football? Come watch your Titan Football teams take on Lompoc tonight here at our stadium! JV starts at 4:00 and Varsity is at 7:00. Students with NHS ASB decals on their ASB cards will get in FREE!

Tomorrow our Cross Country team will be competing in the Big Ditch Invitational at Talley Farms in Arroyo Grande starting at 9:00am. Go out and cheer them on as they open their 2014 season!
