General



The textbook office will be closed on Friday and the library will close at 1:45. There will be no after school tutoring on Friday.

Have you purchased your 2014-15 yearbook yet? Did you know that on February 1, the yearbook staff has to finalize the number of yearbooks we are ordering based on sales to date? What does that mean for you? It means that January 31 is the LAST DAY to guarantee your copy of the book that will hold memories of this school year! If you wait, yearbook orders made between February and June will be fulfilled first come, first served until we are sold out. February 1st is also the last day to order your yearbook with a personalized cover. Order your yearbook today in the Activities Office or online at JostensYearbooks.com. Current prices are $70 w/ an ASB sticker, $75 w/o...prices will go up February 1st.



This Year’s theme for Winter Formal is Winter in New York! The date of the dance is February and it will be at the Cypress Ridge Pavillion from 8pm – 11pm. Official ticket prices are $25 with an ASB card and $30 without. Tickets will go on sale this week. Winter formal guest passes are now available in the activities office. If you are inviting a non-NHS student you will need to return the guest pass paper-work by today at 3pm. Come be a part of the 2015 Winter Formal!

Do you need some extra help raising your grades? Looking for a quiet place to get your homework finished? After school tutoring is available Monday-Friday from 3:00-4:00 in the Library. All are welcome.



Hey Titans! Come support your Titan Robotics Team by going to Chipotle in Santa Maria for a spirit night Wednesday, February 4th from 4 to 8pm. You must have proof that you are supporting a club by showing Chipotle a flyer that is available in all English classes. Feel free to take a flyer, shoot a photo of a poster on campus with your phone, or show them the post on Nipomo High’s Instagram or facebook page. Come on down and help us get to the worlds!

This incredible piece of theatre will be accompanied by an original score composed by our own Mr. McDonald and the NHS Music department. AP Students! You can now pay for your AP exams(s) in the Activity Office. $91 per exam or $53 per exam for students qualified for our Free Reduced Lunch program. See your AP teacher or Mr. Dorn in room 142 for more details.

Seniors! Do you need money for college? Then check out all of the scholarship applications in the filing cabinet in counseling. Some deadlines are soon approaching. Check it out today!



Community Service


The Dana Adobe is looking for Junior and Senior volunteers at their Spring Vendor Fair on March 7th. Shifts of 2 – 4 hours are available starting at 8am. Help is needed in the vendor parking area to assist vendors with unloading their vehicles and setting up canopies, working in general parking areas routing and directing event attendees. Flyers are available in the activities office for additional information and contact information.




Sports


The Girls' Varsity Soccer team defeated Santa Ynez for the 2nd time this season by a final score of 1-0. Kim Knollenberg scored a goal in the 1st half with the assist going to Viviana Sylva. Senior goalie, Yocelyn Lopez faced 18 shots from the Santa Ynez team and made 8 saves, some of which were critical in preserving the victory and another shut-out for Yocelyn. The team record for the Titans in the Los Padres League is now 7-1-1. Well Done!




Attention athletes, are you thinking about running distance track? If so, come to an informational meeting today in room 133 to discuss the upcoming season.




Today’s Sports:


Girls Wrestling will take to the mat at Pioneer Valley High School today in a Quad Dual vs PV, Santa Maria and Righetti. Matches start at 4:30.


Girls Water Polo will be in their home pool today vs Paso Robles. Varsity swims at 3:00 with JV at 4:00.


Girls Soccer (7-1-1) will travel to Orcutt Academy today.


Boys Soccer will be on our home field today hosting Orcutt Academy. JV starts at 3:30 and Varsity at 5:30.
