General


Attention NHS students:
Due to safety concerns, starting on the first day of classes in the fall semester of the school year 2015-2016, the back row of Nipomo High School and Central Coast New Tech High School will be off limits for the student body at break and lunch; the back row goes from classroom 124 to 138. Exceptions will be made for students who need to participate in activities supervised by staff members. Thank you from the Nipomo High School Administrative Team.


The updated student debt “Do You Know What You Owe” list is posted in the Activities Office window. Please take care of any student debt or outstanding textbooks as soon as possible. Seniors must be clear to participate in Senior activities.


The last day the library will be open is this Thursday, June 4th. Beginning Friday, June 5th the library will be closed. There will be a bin by the front door for textbook return.


All library materials are now PAST DUE. Please return all library books to Mrs. Matsuura immediately and take care of any late fees on your account. This does not include your textbooks!


Attention all students: If you plan to make up a test or complete work for a class, arrangements should be made to do so during lunch or after school. Students are not allowed to leave class to work on something for a different class. If you are found wandering campus will be referred to the office.


Friday, June 5th is the last day the Student Store will be open this year! Come check out the $20 sale on sweatshirts!


Hey Titans! General yearbook distribution has begun at break and lunch only in the Activities Office. Price will be $80 (no discounts) if you have not already purchased one. Please remember: yearbooks will not be distributed to students who owe any money to the Activities Office.


Also, access to RePlayIt is still open, so upload favorite pictures from end of the year activities before July 1st. After July 1st, RePlayIt will only be accessible to students who purchased a yearbook.


The last day for after school tutoring is this Thursday, June 4th.


Clubs and Classes


GSA meets today at lunch in room 135.


Attention sophomore taking AP English Literature next year. If you have not yet received a syllabus or summer work from Ms. Gutshall, please come to room 111 by the end of next week. In order to be enrolled in AP Literature, you must stop by.


Attention all incoming AP World History students… There will be a mandatory meeting at the start of lunch on Wednesday in room 114 to discuss course expectations and to assign summer work. You will not be officially enrolled in the AP World History course unless you attend this meeting. Don't be late.


Attention Sophomores and Juniors! Are you interested in becoming a Teacher's Assistant next year? Positions are now available for peer tutoring, copy center staff, Department teacher's assistants, technology assistants, special education tutors, and more. Students selected will receive discounts on school activities, receive specialized training, and will be invited to a monthly lunch party. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, good citizenship, and good attendance. Pick up an application at the activities window for more information.


Attention Juniors: Did you receive an Academic Letter certificate at Titan Awards Night? The scrolls are in and you can pick them up from Mrs. Cuzick in the Attendance Office at break, lunch or after school.


Seniors


Seniors - All textbooks must be returned and all debts must be paid by this Friday, June 5th. Any senior with outstanding books or fees cannot participate in senior activities.


There are still a few scholarships available. See Mrs. Lattimer in Counseling for more information. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by!


Additional late orders of caps and gowns have arrived. Check for yours in the Activities Office.


If you have not ordered your cap and gown, get the form from the counter in the Activities Office or go to www.centralcalgrads.com . Time is running out!!!


Community Service

Sports


Track banquet will be Wednesday, June 3rd at 5:30 in Olympic Hall.


Attention athletes, are you interested in running cross country in the fall? If so, tryouts are Tuesday through Thursday on the NHS track from 3:10-4:30. Bring a good pair of running shoes, workout gear, and a water bottle. Don't worry if you are new and haven't been running. If you have any questions, please stop by room 133 and talk to Miss Rollinger.


Attention all girls interested in playing golf next year, there is a mandatory meeting at lunch on Thursday in Mr. Lindgren’s room 126. All girls are welcome and encouraged to attend and No golf experience is necessary. Don’t own your own clubs right now, no problem, come out and give it a try! We will be discussing summer practice schedule and the upcoming season.


The 2015-16 Sports Clearance Packets are on sale now for $40 in the NHS Activities Office before school, at break, lunch and after school until 3:15 daily. The cost for the Packet includes an ASB card sticker for next school year. Every student athlete must be cleared prior to participating and that includes summer practices.
