This week is Social Media Awareness week! Come out to the quad every day at lunch to participate in an activity that represents positivity on Social Media.
Any 11th or 12th grade students interested in providing peer tutoring to high school students please come into the counseling office to sign-up. You will need to indicate the subjects you prefer tutoring as well as your contact information. Students wanting to provide tutoring can be paid up to $10.50/hr.
Come on out to the gym every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for some Intramural pick-up basketball. Sports offered will rotate depending on student interest.
Parking permits are available for $15 in the Activities Office. Warning - non permitted vehicles will be ticketed. Reminder– student parking area is in front of the gym.
Do you have career plans after you graduate from Nipomo High School? Allan Hancock College is holding their annual Career Exploration Day on Friday, October 9th! There will be hands-on exhibits and time to ask questions! The bus will leave NHS at 9:00am and you will be back on Nipomo High School's campus by 12:45pm. Lunch will be provided. Pick-up a field trip permission slip and Academic Progress Report from the Counseling Office now and return it to the Counseling Office no later than the end of lunch today. DON'T MISS OUT!
Nipomo Recreation and Central Coast Theatre Works invites you to help them create a logo for their newly formed Community Theater Group. For information on the contests rules, please call Nipomo Recreation 929-5437 or pick up a registration form in the Activities Office. All entries due no later than October 20, 2015.
Are you having trouble figuring out what to do after high school? Are you struggling to choose a major and a college? If so, come to Room 128 at lunch this Wednesday, September 30th for career counseling. Mrs. Davis is Nipomo High School's career counselor and she would love to meet with you! She is also available for one-on-one counseling before and after school, and at lunch on most Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Attention all classes! Hit the quad today oat lunch to take part in ASB’s “Guess That Lolo” challenge and go head-to-head against other classes. The class to successfully name more logos than opposing classes will win a prize. Remember, pictures speak a thousand words, and it’s up to you how to interpret them.
Juniors--The PSAT Test will be offered at Nipomo High School on Wednesday, October 14th, from 8:00 - 11:00 in the morning. The PSAT is the practice test for the SAT College admissions tests. All juniors who take the test will automatically be entered into the National Merit Scholarship competition. Tickets for juniors who take the test are $20.00, and can be purchased in the activities office. All sophomores at NHS will be taking the test on the 14th as well, and sophomore test fees will be paid for by the school district. Remember to test your best!

Juniors! All juniors interested in helping with the junior class float, there is an informational meeting at lunch today in room 102. It’s going to be radical!! Be there! Attention Students with a 3.0 – 3.5 or a 3.5 – 4.0 GPA or if you improved by .5 GPA last semester, you can apply for Renaissance! Applications are in front of Mrs. Lattimer’s desk in the counseling office. Completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Lattimer by Thursday, October 1st!
What is CSF? California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is a statewide organization which honors outstanding high school students for their academic excellence. Pick up an application in room 138 or from the attendance office. Deadline to apply is this Friday, October 2nd.
