Library News: The winner of last Friday’s Loot Crate drawing is Jonathan Martinez! Congratulations Johnathan…stop by the library to pick out your prize. Remember every time you return your library book on time you can enter to win a prize from Mrs. Matsuura’s Loot Crate Prize cabinet!! A winner is drawn every Friday.
The Library will be closed on Wednesday for testing. This includes before school, break and lunch. We will be open after school for tutoring.
Homecoming Dance tickets are on sale now $10 for ASB card holders, $15 for non ASB. Be sure you are eligible to purchase one! You must have your student debts all paid up. Check the list at the Activities Office if you think you may have a balance due!
Guest Passes for the Homecoming Dance are now available on the Activities Office counter. They are due no later than October 13th at 3pm.
If you missed picture day or are not happy with how your photos turned out, you are in luck! Retake day is October 22nd! Pick up a form from the attendance or activities office.
If you purchased an ASB sticker and it does not show on your ID card, please come to the Activities Office and get your card remade. You must have your card with the ASB emblem on it to get into the game for free.

Sophomores!
Remember, you are taking the PSAT Test this Wednesday periods 1-4. Remember to bring a calculator and two # 2 pencils. Room assignments will be provided to you today. They will also be posted on the bulletin board outside the forum on Wednesday morning. All sophomores should report directly to their testing rooms on Wednesday morning. Remember to get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast and test your best!
All juniors who have chosen to take the PSAT test will report directly to the Forum on Wednesday morning.
Attention Actors! Auditions for the Greek Tragedy “Media” will be held today in the Forum after school. For more information and to sign up for an audition time, go to room 110.
Juniors--The PSAT Test will be offered at Nipomo High School on Wednesday, October 14th, from 8:00 - 11:00 in the morning. The PSAT is the practice test for the SAT College admissions tests. All juniors who take the test will automatically be entered into the National Merit Scholarship competition. Tickets for juniors who take the test are $20.00, and can be purchased in the activities office. All sophomores at NHS will be taking the test on the 14th as well, and sophomore test fees will be paid for by the school district. Remember to test your best!
Throughout the month of October you can help protect a woman and her future newborn babies from tetanus by donating to “Trick or Treat for Unicef.” Look for a Key Club member with an orange box that says, “Trick or Treat for Unicef” to donate your coins!
Are you interested in banking or finance? Still trying to figure out what career path to take after high school? Come to the Forum Monday, October 19th to hear a guest speaker from 10:00-10:30. Vice President at Community West Bank will be here to share information about a career in banking and answer any questions. Sign up in the Counseling office today!
Seniors
Seniors!! Today is the last day to get your permission slips in for Cuesta Promise Day held on Friday, October 23rd. Bus will leave 8:45am and will return to Nipomo High School at 1:45pm. NOTE: October 23rd is a half day so you will need your own transportation home once you arrive back at Nipomo High School. Drop your permission slips off at the counseling office today by end of lunch.
You should have received an order form for Senior t-shirts and sweatshirts in your Government or Econ classes. If you do not have a Government or Econ class, see Mr. McConnell for your form. Order your shirt or hoodie now! Prices are $8 for short sleeved t’s, $10 for long sleeved t’s and $25 for hoodies. Turn in your order form to your gov/econ teacher or Mrs. Teixeira in the Activities Office by October 28th.
Seniors, need money for college? Many National Scholarships are accepting applications and have upcoming deadlines rapidly approaching! Check out the NHS website under academics to see the newest "National Scholarships" listing. This has a calendar of dates for you to apply and earn yourself some money!
Community Service
Come help support Key Club by distributing food at Nipomo Elementary School today at 3:30 pm – 6pm. Earn Community Service hours!

Girls Soccer preseason workouts will begin today and will continue to be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:15.
Know how to swim? Want to play a sport this winter? Why not give girls water polo a try. All girls interested in playing water polo this year please come to Coach Bellew's room #138 on Friday at lunch to get more info. If you can't make it Friday stop by during lunch or break any other day.
Planning on playing sports this year? Be sure to purchase your Sports Clearance Packet in the Activities Office. The $40 you pay includes the cost of your ASB card!
