General


It’s Winter Week!
Today is Ugly Sweater day. Come to the quad a lunch for the Ugly Sweater competition and walk the red carpet!


Titans, please remember that your attendance for this week and library fees will be posted on Monday for your viewing inside Olympic Hall, Library, main office, outside Olympic Hall, and outside the Forum. Keep yourselves informed on your attendance, financial obligations, and grades; check your homelink accounts or look up your information in the reports mentioned before. Knowledge is power. Go Titans.


Has someone you know been good this year? Send them a candy cane gram for 50 cents or send 4 grams for $1.00. They will be sold a lunch today, Friday and Monday and will be delivered 4th period Tuesday, December 15th.


Are finals in your favor? If not, come study for finals complete with snacks and tutors on Tuesday, December 15th after school from 3 – 5 in the library. There will be a small fee of $1.00 with ASB sticker and $2.00 without.


Are you living in an unconventional living situation? Are you staying with someone outside your immediate family? Do you stay in various people's houses? Are you not living with a parent or legal guardian? Are you without housing? If any of these situations apply to you, you may qualify for a program that will help you and give you lots of free stuff! The Current “Do You Know What You Owe” list has been posted in the Activities and Attendance offices. Please check to see if you have any outstanding ASB debts to pay. Winter Formal is coming soon, and you must be fine free to go!


Next week the student store will only be open on Monday and Tuesday then they will be closed until school resumes in January. There still are plenty of NHS apparel for sale at this time. Be sure to enjoy Frito Boat Friday this Friday!!


Whittier College is offering Talent Scholarships valued from $1000 to $12,000 to incoming students who are talented in art, music or theater. See Mrs. Furlin in the library for further information.


Clubs and Classes


Attention Independent Study Health students! Your last unit and text book will be due Monday, December 14th at lunch in room 117. Note this is a new date!


Students! Cuesta College is offering a class 2nd semester on the Nipomo High School campus called "Introduction to Workplace Readiness. You can earn 10 elective credits by taking this class which meets two days a week after school from 3:00 - 5:30. See your counselor for more information.


Attention all students! Wow! For the first time ever, Nipomo High School will be offering 7th period classes in collaboration with Cuesta College. Students can take classes in the following subjects if enough students sign up: Biology, World History, US History, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry and Spanish I! These classes could even take the place of summer school! Classes can be used to make up credits or to get ahead on credits and possibly graduate early. All grade levels can take these 7th period classes which will meet from 3:15 - 5:00 Monday through Thursday starting in January. See your counselor soon to sign up for 7th period before the classes are full!


Come toss around the Frisbee on Fridays from 3:00 to 5:00 on the athletic fields.


Seniors


Remember to attend the Financial Aid Night for Seniors on Monday at 6:00 in the Forum. An expert from Cuesta College will be presenting important information on the FAFSA, Cal Grant, the Cuesta Promise Scholarship and much more! The presentation in Spanish will begin at 7:00 pm.


Community Service


Salvation Army is looking for some students to be Bell Ringers during the holidays. The dates are through December 24th. If you are interested, please call 904-7549 to get on the schedule.


Sports


All students interested in swimming in the spring meet in the gym at lunch today.
