General


Titans, let’s celebrate "Higher Ed Thursdays" at NHS! Help us support higher education by wearing college gear or post-high school gear (i.e. fire academy, military, culinary, etc.) every Thursday. In accordance with our school's dress code policy please no mascots. Go ahead and dig out your favorite college/higher ed sweatshirt or t-shirt! Remember to wear your higher ed gear every Thursday!



Winter Formal is Saturday, February 6th. Tickets are now on sale and will be sold until 3pm Friday, February 5th. Prices are $20 with an ASB sticker, $25 without and $30 with ASB and $35 without at the door. Avoid the long line and by your ticket today!

Reminder: Student debts and library and textbook obligations must be taken care of before you can purchase a Winter Formal ticket or a Grad Nite ticket. See the updated “Do You Know What You Owe” list posted at the Activities and Attendance offices.

It’s a new year which means a new chance to reach your health and fitness goals! Join Project Teen Health’s after-school workout program! The first workout starts TODAY after school from 3-4pm in Room 103! All fitness levels are welcome!



Interested in personalized nutrition guidance? Questions about how to lose weight, gain muscle, or improve your eating habits? Come to the nurse's office to sign-up for Project Teen Health's free nutrition consultations! Consultations take place during period 1 through 6 on Wednesdays, come see us today!





Don’t miss NHS Theatre’s Annual Valentine Showcase on Thursday, February 11th in Olympic Hall. Doors open at 6:30 and show starts at 7pm. Student tickets are only $5 and adults are $8.00. See you at the show!



AP Exam registration is open and ready! Go to nhstitans.org, click on the Academics Tab, and select Advanced Placement Exams to register and pay today.



Calling all Renaissance Scholars! If you had above a 3.0 or improved your GPA by .5 points or more, you qualify for Renaissance. Pick up your application in the counseling office and return to Mrs. Lattimer to receive special perks to celebrate your academic success by February 11th.





Seniors



Attention ETS seniors: ETS will be holding a FAFSA and scholarship workshop today at lunch in the computer lab. Please arrive promptly. Again, this is for ETS seniors only. See you there.

The NHS Scholarship application is available on our website in the Academics Tab under scholarships or in the counseling office. The sooner you turn yours in the more scholarships will be available to you!





Seniors! Do you need Cash for College? Four year college? Community College? Trade and Vocational Schools? Then you should come to the "Cash for College" Night tonight from 4:00 - 8:00 in the NHS library. You can drop in anytime with your parents and if you bring the required documents, be done with your FAFSA in less than an hour! How cool is that?



Tickets for this year’s Grad Nite trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal Studios are still available for $80.00, which includes the cost for transportation. There are 93 tickets left.



Community Service





Sports



Track and field practice after school every day this week except Friday. Practice will be Tuesday through Friday next week. All are welcome to join the team!



There will be open tennis practice for boys and girls tennis teams out on the courts Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 – 5:00.



Attention all ladies interested in playing softball this spring, there is a mandatory meeting at the beginning of lunch today in Coach Paradis' room 40C.
