General


You won't want to miss the NHS Theatre Co production of “You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown.” This Broadway musical is a delightful show! Mark your calendars: 7:00 evening shows on March 4 & 5. Matinee at 2:00 on Saturday, March 5. $10.00 for adults / $8.00 for students and seniors.


Titans, tomorrow is "Higher Ed Thursdays" at NHS! Support higher education by wearing college gear or post-high school gear (every Thursday. In accordance with our school's dress code policy please no mascots.


Clubs and Classes


Friday Night Live has a meeting today in room 126. If you’re looking for a leadership opportunity that helps the community, come to 126 at lunch today to join the fun!

Come out and test your Frisbee skills every Friday from 3-5:00 on the athletic fields!


Attention ETS students: It's Wednesday, which means there is a workshop today during lunch in the computer lab for ALL grades. Don't forget to turn in your permission slip for the CSULA field trip by 4pm today! If you have any questions, see your ETS advisor at the Career Center or during the workshop.


As a joint activity between NHS Theater Co and CCNT, Ms. Smoot, along with New Tech's Performing Arts Club, is starting an improv team! You don't necessarily need experience in drama--improv is all about teamwork and being quick on your feet. You'll be training with professionals before you begin performing. Auditions are next Tuesday, March 8th and Wednesday, March 9th from 3:30-4:30 in room 919. You only have to come to one of the days to audition. Sign-ups are on Miss Mitchell's door and Miss Smoot's door at New Tech and on Mr. Holden's door at Nipomo High School. See you there!


It’s that time again! Special Olympics! The Special Olympics will be held on May 6th. Please come support your Nipomo athletes if you are free! If you are interested in purchasing one of our shirts to support the students of room 200, please see Mrs. Teixeira in the activities office. Sizes run from adult small to 2XL and will cost $10.00. Shirts go on sale March 1st!


To register for AP Exams, go to nhstitans.org, click on the Academics Tab, and select Advanced Placement Exams to register and pay today.


The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is now accepting applications from Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who earned high grades on last semester’s report card. Bring a copy of your report card (or current transcript) to room 138 and fill out an application to see if you qualify. If you do qualify, there is a $5 membership fee. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 11th.


Seniors



Seniors who are going to Cuesta next year - the deadline to apply for the Cuesta Promise Scholarship is today. Cuesta will pay all of your tuition for the first year, but only if you get the FAFSA and Cuesta promise scholarship application done by today. The application is available in the Cuesta website. See your counselor if you need help

Community Service


Nipomo Youth Softball League is looking for volunteers to help with opening day this Saturday at Dana Elementary from 8am - 3pm. They need help with field prep, setting up etc. The contact for NYSL is Greg Rodriguez, 714-0178.


Need to earn community service hours? All students are invited to the Nipomo Native Garden & Cesar Chavez Park on March 5th and again on March 12th from 9am until noon for a fun workday. Bring your gloves and garden tools and show up ready to work! There will be pizza provided by Me ‘n Ed’s at noon with soft drinks provided by Vons.


Sports


All Wrestlers who received gear this season need return all gear in the wrestling room. Coach Bryson or another coach will be there every day this week to collect gear, Monday through Friday at 3:00 pm. If your gear is not returned, you will be fined and holds will placed at school.
