Keep yourselves informed on your attendance, financial obligations, and grades; check your homelink accounts or look up your information in the reports mentioned before. Knowledge is power. The Educate Si Se Puede Conference for Latino and Latina high school students will be held at Cuesta College on Friday, March 18th from 9:00 - 2:00. There will be exciting workshops, entertainment, and a free lunch! Nipomo High School will be providing bus transportation to the event. See Mr. Hubbell in Room 128 at lunch on Thursday or Friday to register for the event. All participants will receive a free Si Se Puede T-shirt.
Special Olympics, Best Buddies--There will be a meeting at lunch on Monday in the Forum to discuss the practice schedule for the Special Olympics Spring Regional Games on Friday, May 6th at Cuesta College. Attend the meeting Monday if you want to be a Best Buddy at the Special Olympics Games on May 6th.
The NHS Theatre Co production of “You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown” is a delightful show! Mark your calendars: 7:00 evening shows on March 4 & 5. Matinee at 2:00 on Saturday, March 5. $10.00 for adults / $8.00 for students and seniors.
Clubs and Classes
We need your green. NHS Titan Robotics is having a Tri-Tip Sandwich BBQ. Order your sandwich, chips, and drink for $10 from Mr. Gracia in room 106 by Wednesday March 9 to help us get to the National or World VEX Robotic Championships. Then come by school on Friday, March 11th to pick up your meal.
Students interested in a career in medicine! The Dignity Health Physician Mentoring Program provides local high school students the opportunity to witness and understand the importance of professions in the medical field, from evaluation and treatment to follow-up care. The program is being offered this summer from June through August. Doctors from a variety of specialties volunteer their time, leading students in the office setting, on their hospital rounds, in the emergency department and even in the operating room. The Dignity Health Physician Mentoring Program is offered at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, French Hospital and Marion Regional Medical Center. See your counselor for the application.
Come out and test your Frisbee skills every Friday from 3-5:00 on the athletic fields!
As a joint activity between NHS Theater Co and CCNT, Ms. Smoot, along with New Tech's Performing Arts Club, is starting an improv team! Auditions are next Tuesday, March 8th and Wednesday, March 9th from 3:30-4:30 in room 919 at CCNT. Sign-ups are on Mr. Holden's door at Nipomo High School. See you there!
It’s that time again! Special Olympics! The Special Olympics Spring Regional Games will be held on May 6th. Please come support your Nipomo athletes if you are free! If you are interested in purchasing one of our shirts to support the students of room 200, please see Mrs. Teixeira in the activities office. Sizes run from adult small to 2XL and will cost $10.00. Shirts go on sale March 1st!

Seniors
Seniors who took the Hancock College START Placement test--
There will be an Academic Advising Workshop during 1st period on Monday, March 7th (from 9:00-9:45). After attending the presentation, students will meet individually with the Hancock Counselors to plan their schedule for next year. Sign up for your individual appointment in the Nipomo High Counseling office. Bring your START Placement results with you to your appointment. If you can't make the meeting on the 7th, there will be another one on the 14th.

Community Service
Nipomo Youth Softball League is looking for volunteers to help with opening day this Saturday at Dana Elementary from 8am - 3pm. They need help with field prep, setting up, etc. The contact for NYSL is Greg Rodriguez, 714-0178.
Need to earn community service hours? All students are invited to the Nipomo Native Garden & Cesar Chavez Park on March 5th and again on March 12th from 9am until noon for a fun workday. Bring your gloves and garden tools and show up ready to work! There will be pizza provided by Me ‘n Ed’s at noon with soft drinks provided by Vons.
Sports
Wrestlers who received gear this season need to return your gear in the wrestling room. Coach Bryson or another coach will be there every day this week to collect gear after school. If your gear is not returned, you will be fined and holds will placed at school.
