Join in on our “Surf’s Up” Spirit Week! Today is Tacky Tourist Day. Whip out your socks and sandals, camera and fanny packs. Friday is Wave Day. Wear blue, beach or Hawaiian attire and don’t forget your floaties! Surf’s up Nipomo!
Can you act, sing or dance? Maybe you can rap, recite a poem or play an instrument? Do you have a secret talent that’s worth showing off? Come sign up for our annual Unplugged! Sign-ups are available on the ASB room door, room 102.
All entries for our 3rd annual Peeps Diorama contest are due tomorrow! They must be delivered to the library by the end of the day Friday and winners will be announced next week. Prizes included movie tickets and gift cards to In-N-Out Burger and Barnes and Noble! Head to the library for more information.
Clubs and Classes
Come out and test your Frisbee skills every Friday from 3-5:00 on the athletic fields!
Interested in joining the ASB executive council next year? If so, Executive Officer election packets are out and on the Activities Office counter. They are due today. Only next year’s Juniors and Seniors can apply.
All students going to the Si Se Puede conference this Friday at Cuesta, the T-shirts have arrived! Come to the counseling office to pick up your shirt at break or lunch. Make sure to wear your shirt on Friday. Also, make sure to turn in your field trip permission slip to Mrs. Lattimer in counseling. On Friday, check in to your 1st period class for attendance, and then report to Olympic Hall to Mr. Hubbell.
All NHS juniors will be taking the ASVAB test on Tuesday, March 22nd. Juniors will need to report to their 1st period class and then walk over to the gym by 8 am.
Special Olympics Best Buddies-- Practices will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays during 5th Period. See Mr. Hubbell for more details.
The Special Olympics will be held on May 6th. Please come support your Nipomo athletes! If you are interested in purchasing one of our shirts for $10 to support the students of room 200, please see Mrs. Teixeira in the activities office
Seniors
Did you buy your Grad Night Ticket yet? Friday is the last day. They are $80 which includes the bus ride there and back. See Mr. McConnell in room 113 if you are planning to go and unable to pay by tomorrow. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime experience with your classmates.
Seniors, want free money? Tomorrow is the last chance to turn in your NHS scholarship application. This one app lets you apply for 9 scholarships all at once.
Want even more money? Woman's Club of AG application is due Friday and Elks Student of the Month applications are due March 25th. Pick up your copies in the counseling office or go online to the Academics tab, click scholarships and get your money hunt on.

Community Service
Need to earn community service hours? All students are invited to the Cesar Chavez Park, located in the Nipomo Regional Park, on March 19th and again on March 26th from 9am until noon for a fun workday. Bring your gloves and garden tools and show up ready to work! There will be pizza and soft drinks provided at noon. Thank you to all students who have come out to help!
Kids Day at the Park Volunteers are needed on Saturday, March 19th. Hours available are 8 am to 3pm on Saturday March19th. Text Nancy at 714-8515 if interested in community service hours or call Nipomo Recreation office at 929-5437.
Sports
March is National Athletic Training month. To celebrate, please help our Athletic Trainer Amy Silveira collect lightly used athletic shoes throughout the month of March. They will be sent to One World Running, a non-profit organization that provides shoes to those in need in the US and abroad. Items may be dropped off after school in Mrs. Silveira’s office. Please see her for more information.
