General

Please wear your higher education gear this Thursday and every Thursday! Higher education includes college, military, and any other educational program after high school. You are allowed to wear mascots as long as the name of the organization is visible as well.

If you qualified for Renaissance! Pick up an application from Mrs. Lattimer at break or lunch and turn it in by September 20th. Congratulations on your academic achievement!

Teen's Closet is open today from 12-4 in Room 142. Students are welcome during lunch and after school.

Clubs and Classes

There will be a Friday Night Live meeting TODAY at lunch in room 126. If you want an opportunity to meet cool people and have a positive impact on YOUR community, stop by and get ready to make a difference. See you for FNL in room 126.

Attention ETS students: The first workshop of the year is today during lunch in room 130. If you are interested in joining the program, stop by to pick up an application. See you in room 130!

Attention Juniors and Seniors! Allan Hancock College is holding their annual Career Exploration Day on Friday, September 30th! The bus will leave Olympic Hall at 9:00 and you will be back on Nipomo High School's campus by 12:30. Sign up in the counseling office and pick up a permission slip. First students to return permission slips are guaranteed a seat if in good academic standing. Permissions slips must be turned in by September 20th.

Community Service
Need community service hours? Join ECOSLO for Coastal Cleanup Day, taking place on Saturday, September 17th from 9am to noon. For more info, see flyers in the Activities Office.


Sports

Your NHS cross country team ran their first meet of the season this past Saturday at Arroyo Grande's home meet. Overall, the girls finished in 4th out of 11th place right behind Arroyo Grande. The girls were led by speedy Mackenzie Wisneski, Jackie Lopez, Adria Kimball, and Lauren Iliff, Madrid Holland, and fab freshmen Hunter Long and Layla Loew. The Titan boys placed 4 runners in the top 22, led by Josue Navarro, Joe Gocke, Devin Diaz, and Garrett Morgan. Devin Diaz made the all-time frosh/soph list at number 7 for the meet's history, holding a 5:26 per mile pace for 2.5 miles. Our next meet is this Saturday at the Morro Bay Invitational.
