General

Renaissance applications are due by September 20th. Pick yours up from Mrs. Lattimer at break or lunch if you qualified last quarter.

Reminder - After school tutoring is available in the library from 3:00-4:00 every Monday - Thursday.

Teen's Closet is open on Wednesdays from 12-4 in Room 142. Students are welcome during lunch and after school.

If you haven’t heard, Nipomo is building a skate park in Nipomo Regional Park. Fundraiser t-shirts are on sale for $15 in the Activities Office.

Are you going to the football game this Friday? You should be! If you want to be part of the Mt. Olympus student section and cheer on the Titans, come to room 143 on Wednesday at lunch. Let’s show Santa Ynez how rowdy we can get!

Clubs and Classes

Are you interested in Fashion, Graphic Arts, or a career in the Entertainment Industry? The FIDM club will hold its first meeting on Wednesday during lunch in the library conference room. Come be a part of the most fashionable club on campus!! All are welcome.

Key Club will meet today at lunch in room 150.

Attention Freshmen! Link Crew is hosting a tie-dye social this Wednesday, September 14th in front of room 126 at lunch. Bring a white t-shirt to get your tie-dye on! We hope to see you there!

Attention Juniors and Seniors! Allan Hancock College is holding their annual Career Exploration Day on Friday, September 30th! Sign up in the counseling office and pick up a permission slip.

This Friday, September 16th, is Mexican Independence Day. The Nipomo United Club will be playing music on the quad at lunch to celebrate this important day in the history of Mexico. Selene Rodriguez will be singing, and dancing is encouraged.

Seniors

Community Service

The Food Bank is starting up for fall and could use your help as a volunteer to distribute the food. There are 5 shifts starting at 1:30 and wrapping up at 6:15. Help is needed with all shifts. The location is Nipomo Elementary School and the day is today! See Mrs. Brooks for information on how to sign up.

The Avila Apple Festival is looking for volunteers for their event on Sunday, September 18. Earn up to 8 hours of community service. Contact Mary Foppiano at 805-627-1997 for details.

Need community service hours? Join ECOSLO for Coastal Cleanup Day, taking place on Saturday, September 17th from 9am to noon. For more info, see flyers in the Activities Office.

Sports

Attention Girls Basketball, Fall workouts have started. You may pick up a Fall workout schedule for dates/times of practices, on the Records office counter in the office at break, lunch or afterschool.

Any girls interested in wrestling this season, please come to room 147 Wednesday, 09/14, at lunch for an informational meeting for the upcoming season. See you there!

This past Saturday at the Morro Bay Cross Country Invitational, Joe Gocke placed fifth and Josue Navarro placed 10th for the varsity boys in a race that featured literally hundreds of runners from 30 different high schools! For the second week in a row McKenzie Wisneski placed in the top 10 for the varsity girls and Devin Diaz from Nipomo high school placed in the top five. Our fab freshman continue to amaze as well.
