General


Calling all good hearts of Nipomo. Gravity Water Week starts next week! What is Gravity Water? Gravity Water is a fund that provides water filtration system s to countries that don’t have access to clean water. With your help, we can raise donations and help the 783 million people who don’t have clean water.

Trick or Treat! Are you ready for Halloween? On October 31st at lunch, go around and trick or treat our very own NHS classrooms! Who will come out getting the most candy? Reminder, you must be in costume to participate in trick or treating. Keep dress code in mind – no masks or fake weapons please!

Hey Titans! Come out and sign up for our Flag Football Intermural at lunch on the quad all this week. The Intermural will be November 1st – 3rd and finals will be November 8th – 10th at lunch.

Dominican University, located near San Francisco, is a small private University with degrees available in Arts, Social Science, Business and Natural Sciences. The student to teacher ratio is 16:1, and 92% of all undergraduates receive financial aid. Come hear more about Dominican University on Tuesday, November 1st, during 1st period in the library computer lab. The library will be open on Monday, so please stop by and sign up for this presentation.

Attention all students: If you are interested in attending the Engineering and Computer Science Presentation on Wednesday, November 2nd, you must sign-up in the counseling office no later than Tuesday, November 1st at break. If you have signed-up to attend, check with Mrs. Davis on Tuesday or your 1st period teacher on Wednesday to find out which period you are attending.


Clubs and Classes

Tie-Dye Club will be having their next meeting Friday at lunch in room 40B. Anyone is welcome to attend!

Hey smartical particles! Renaissance's "Treat Yourself" perk is happening on Monday, October 31st. Come to the quad and pick up a special treat that is as sweet as you are! Don't forget to bring your Renaissance card--(muah-ha-ha-ha...scary laugh)


Krispy Kreme's are coming! If you would like to place an order for a dozen of these delicious donuts for only $11, ask one of your many AVID friends on campus. They will be selling them until the end of the day this Friday October 28th. If you cannot find an AVID friend, then come by room 107 by Friday, Mrs. Kelly's room, to place an order. They will be delivered next Thursday, Nov. 3rd. Help support AVID to go on their college field trips by buying some yummy donuts!!!

You don’t have to speak French to be in the French Club! Everyone is welcome to the meeting on Friday at lunch in room 118. Bring food and enjoy some French culture!


Join Project Teen Health's Club Meeting and get info on upcoming events! We meet today during lunchtime in the library's conference room. A lunch will be provided!

Memories fade, but yearbooks are forever. Buy yours today in the Activities Office or online: jostensyearbooks.com. Prices are $65 with an ASB card and $70 without. Prices will go up October 29th!

Key Club are selling Halloween-o-grams and will sell through this Friday. You will have the option to buy one up-front or write a personal message and have it sent out during 2nd period on Halloween Day, Monday the 31st. The cost is $1.50 each.

Come see the Hysterical Artists in their first improv show of the year, tonight at 7:00 pm in the Forum. Tickets are $5 and only $3 if you come in costume!

NHS Drama is presenting Radium Girls on October 28 - 29 at 7:30pm with a 2pm Saturday matinee. Ticket prices are: $6 students/seniors, $8 general admission, and staff $5.

Attention all freshmen, there will be a bat decorating social today in room 126 during lunch. Come and get crafty with Link Crew.

Calling all Frisbee fans…We will be playing Ultimate Frisbee this Friday at 3:00 on the athletic fields next to the girls’ softball diamond. Bring water, running shoes and a desire to run!

Seniors

If you haven’t filled out your permission slip for Senior Lock-in, please pick one up at the activities office counter. You must get it signed and bring it with you to Senior Lock-in. You will not be admitted without a permission slip. Doors will open at 9:30 and close at 10:30.


The NHS Scholarship page is up and running. Applications are available on our website in the Academics Tab under scholarships or in the counseling office. For more info see Mrs. Conrad.


Community Service

Are you looking for community service hours? Are you interested in tutoring 5th graders in Math? If so, please see Mr. Hubbell, Mr. Meloncon, or Mrs. Kia to learn about a great community service opportunity! ​
Sports

There will be a lunch time meeting on Friday in the Forum for anybody interested in playing baseball this spring.

Tryouts for the Titans Boys Soccer team will take place Monday, October 31st through Friday, November 4th from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. To prepare for tryouts, come to open field training every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 3:30 - 5:00 pm at the soccer fields south of the softball field.
To participate in any of these activities you must have your sports clearance and physical done. For instructions or forms see Mrs. Teixeira in the Activities Office or Coach Veloz in room 115.
