General

The Activities Office will be closed today and tomorrow.

Titans, did you know that twice the population of the United States lives without access to safe water? Come out to the quad today at lunch to purchase Horchata for $1.00. All proceeds go to Gravity Water. Tomorrow’s drink will be Italian Soda. Remember to show your support by wearing blue on Friday!

After school tutoring is available in the library from 3:00-4:00 every Monday - Thursday.

A representative from UCSB will be here today during 6th period. A sign-up sheet and presentation passes are available in the library.

Flag Football Intermural continues today and finals will be November 8th – 10th at lunch.

Are you interested in possibly pursuing a career in a Public Safety field such as Law Enforcement, EMS, or Firefighting? If so, you should consider participating in the upcoming Skills USA contest. Mr. Lindgren and Mr. Pole will be leading a team of students who will be competing in either a CPR, Firefighting, Criminal Justice, or CSI competition against other high school students. If you are interested, there is a mandatory meeting at lunch on Friday in room 148.


Clubs and Classes

Attention Juniors! Jostens will be on campus for the ring delivery and make-up order day on Friday, November 4th in the quad at lunch. It’s not too late to bring your $50 deposit and your order form! Extra packet are available in the Activities Office.



Seniors

The Class of 2017 panoramic photo will be taken today and seniors will be released at noon. Make sure to get your order form from your Government or Econ teacher and return it with your payment during the photo shoot. The panoramic in the yearbook will not be the same as the one students purchase.

Seniors--The Oceano Five Cities Elks Teenager of the Month scholarship application is due to Mrs. Conrad November 17th! There will be 8 student (4 male and 4 female) representatives selected with the chance of receiving $2000 in the spring. Get your app in today.

Community Service

It's time for the Nipomo Elementary School Food Distribution on Tuesday, November 8 (the second Tuesday of the month). Organizing starts at 1:30 and distribution goes until about 6:15. Sports
Attention all male athletes interested in wrestling this year! There will be a mandatory Wrestling meeting at lunch on Friday in the wrestling room. Please get food, then head to the wrestling room. Come meet Coach Bryson and Coach Bello.

All ladies interested in playing softball this year, there is an important meeting on Tuesday, November 8th, at the beginning of lunch in Coach Paradis' room 40C.

Tryouts for the Titans Boys Soccer team continue today through Friday from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. at the soccer fields south of the softball field.

Any girls want to wrestle? There is still time to join the NHS Girls Wrestling Team. Come to the track after school all this week at 3:00 to get started.

To participate in any of these sports activities, you must have your sports clearance and physical done. For instructions or forms see Mrs. Teixeira in the Activities Office.


Sports this week

Boys Water Polo will play today in a league championship match-up with Santa Ynez, here at NHS in our pool, at 4:00pm. Come out and cheer our boys on.......did I say this is for the LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP?!! Hope to see everybody there cheering on our boys!

Girls Volleyball will play in the second round of CIF on the road again at Ontario Christian High School. Game time is set for 6pm. Good luck Lady Titans!

Saturday
If our girls win on the road in Ontario, we will be home for CIF Quarter Finals on Saturday (vs winner of St. Monica Catholic and El Monte). That time currently sits at 7pm. Will update everybody on this possibility on Friday morning. Stay tuned.
